Toxicity: Extremely toxic, with an affinity for hemoglobin 200~300 times that of oxygen, easily causing tissue asphyxiation; 5000ppm inhalation for 5 minutes can be fatal.

Flammability & Explosion: Highly flammable, forms explosive mixtures with air (12.5%~74.2% volume fraction), burns with a blue flame to produce carbon dioxide.

Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, benzene, chloroform and most organic solvents.

Stability: Chemically stable at room temperature; decomposes into carbon and oxygen at high temperature above 1000℃; reacts violently with oxidants, halogens and strong acids.
